Honours adult novels released in the UK that place climate change at the heart of their narrative and themes.
The Climate Fiction Prize is inviting entries for its 2027 award, celebrating full‑length novels that explore the climate crisis and the ways people and communities respond to it. The winning author (or authors) will receive £10,000, with the prize designed to spotlight powerful storytelling that examines the impacts of climate change and the solutions imagined through fiction.
To be eligible, novels must be:

Originally created in English

Published by a recognised UK publishing imprint

Over 20,000 words

First published - or scheduled for UK print publication - within the qualifying window
Writers of any nationality aged 18+ can be entered.
Stories may come from any genre, but they must place the climate crisis at the heart of the narrative - whether through characters shaped by environmental change, plots driven by climate related events, or themes that meaningfully engage with climate realities and responses.
