Applications Open for Cultural Collaboration Funding
The British Council has opened applications for its Connections Through Culture grants, offering funding to support new creative collaborations between the UK and partners in eligible countries.
This 2026 round brings together previous strands such as Biennials Connect and the Architecture, Design and Fashion Biennials and Festivals Grants, creating a single programme designed to strengthen cross-cultural exchange, share skills and spark long term international partnerships.
Grants of £5,000 – £15,000 are available, and applications are open to both individuals and organisations. Each project must include at least one UK partner and one partner based in an eligible participating country, with all partners legally based in their respective countries for the duration of the project.
Funding supports the development of new creative work, including co‑creation, residencies, exchanges, workshops, R&D, exhibitions, performances, showcases, festivals, publications, webinars and conferences. Projects can be delivered in person, digitally or as a hybrid.
A wide range of art forms are eligible - from architecture, design, fashion and craft to digital arts, XR, games, film, literature, music, theatre, dance and visual arts. For projects linked to festivals or biennials in these areas, the festival or biennial organisation should submit the application rather than individual practitioners.
The deadline for applications is 12 August 2026 (23:59). Click here to apply.
