HEY! Volunteering Seeks Artist or Creative to Deliver Community Led Pilot Project

HEY! Volunteering are inviting an artist or creative practitioner to lead a new community driven creative pilot at the East Hull Veterans Pavilion on Holderness Road (HU8 8JU), delivered as part of their Community Hubs programme.

Community Hubs are designed to place arts, culture and heritage at the heart of local neighbourhoods - breaking down barriers, widening access, and giving residents real influence over the cultural activity happening around them. By working hand in hand with local people, volunteers and community organisations, the programme aims to strengthen the relationship between people, place and creativity.

This commission is the first major test project for the Community Hubs approach and will help shape how future community led cultural work develops across Hull.

They’re looking for proposals for a creative project that:

  • Connects deeply with East Hull residents - especially those living near the East Hull Veterans Pavilion, through conversation, consultation and hands on creative involvement

  • Collaborates closely with HEY! Volunteers - supporting them to lead engagement and take part in co‑creation

  • Opens up cultural access for people who may not usually take part in creative activity

  • Creates inclusive participation opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities

The project should make use of the East Hull Veterans Pavilion and its surrounding outdoor space. Deadline: 9am, 27 August 2026
