Hull’s iconic sidewinder trawler, the Arctic Corsair, has officially arrived at her permanent home in North End Shipyard, marking a major milestone in her long and much loved story.
After an early morning move on 14 August, the vessel was carefully guided upriver in a coordinated operation involving maritime specialists, bridge teams and partner agencies. Their combined effort ensured the final journey was completed safely, smoothly and with precision - a fitting end to the Corsair’s sailing life.
Her relocation follows an extensive restoration carried out by Dunston Ship Repairs, who have helped return the trawler to excellent condition ahead of her future as a visitor attraction.
Now that she’s securely dry berthed, work begins on the next phase: installing the walkways and bridges that will link the visitor centre directly to the ship. These new access routes are essential, allowing people to step aboard safely and experience the Corsair’s history up close.
