Cultural professionals from across the UK are being invited to Hull next spring as Cultural Tides returns with its biggest programme yet.

For the first time, the annual conference will take place over two days, bringing together artists, organisations, freelancers, volunteers and cultural leaders to explore the issues, opportunities and ideas shaping the sector today.

The event will be held at Hull City Hall on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 March 2027, offering a packed programme of talks, workshops and networking opportunities designed to inspire and inform those working in, or interested in, culture and the creative industries.

This year's conference will explore a range of themes, including the contribution of volunteering to the cultural sector and the role culture plays in shaping vibrant places and communities. Further details on the programme and speakers will be announced in the coming months.

Cultural Tides arrives at an exciting moment for Hull. The city will be marking 10 years since Hull UK City of Culture 2017, while a number of significant anniversaries and milestones will also be celebrated throughout the year.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to hear more about Hull's ambition to secure recognition as a UNESCO City of Music, as plans for the city's submission continue to develop.

Across the two days, attendees can expect opportunities to hear from international speakers, take part in practical workshops, exchange ideas with cultural professionals from around the country and discover more about Hull's thriving cultural offer.

Whether you're an established industry professional, an emerging creative or simply interested in the future of culture, Cultural Tides aims to provide a platform for learning, collaboration and new connections.

Tickets for the conference are now available, and organisers are encouraging people to secure their place and save the dates in their diaries.
