Hull will welcome home one of its most extraordinary explorers on Monday 2 November, as Karl Bushby reaches the end of a remarkable 28 year journey around the world.
The Hull born adventurer is expected to arrive at Queen Victoria Square at around 11am after crossing the Humber Bridge and making his way back into the city where his epic quest began.
Members of the public are invited to gather in the square to mark the occasion and celebrate Karl's long awaited return. Hull Volunteers will be among those welcoming him back, before the Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull and Admiral of the Humber, Councillor Maria Coward, greets him on a stage outside Hull City Hall.
Following a short private reception at the City Hall, Karl will continue on the final section of his journey, travelling north to his family home and bringing one of the world's most extraordinary walking expeditions to a close.
