Hull University Archives is beginning an exciting new project to catalogue the records of Hull Truck Theatre. For more than 50 years, Hull Truck has been telling stories rooted in the lives of people in Hull and far beyond, and its archive captures the company’s remarkable impact on the city’s cultural life.

The collection is wonderfully rich, featuring scripts, production notes, photographs, audio recordings, wardrobe books and set models. Once catalogued, it will offer an even better window into the creativity, community, and history that has shaped Hull Truck’s work.

Hull University Archives are part of the Hull History Centre partnership, where it cares for the University’s own records alongside a wide range of deposited collections. This project will help make one of the region’s most significant cultural archives even more accessible to researchers, theatre lovers, and anyone curious about Hull’s creative heritage.
