Humber Street Sesh is officially returning to Hull Marina on Saturday 1 August - a huge win for one of the city’s most loved grassroots festivals.
After facing serious financial pressures affecting events across the UK, the festival has launched a new Community Interest Company (CIC) to help secure its future. This new structure will allow organisers to access grant funding and ensure that every pound of sponsorship, funding and donations goes straight back into supporting Hull’s creative community.
Thanks to early backing from partners including Hull City Council, Hull Business Angels and Hull Trains, the festival is moving forward - but organisers are clear that its long‑term sustainability still relies on continued support from local businesses and the wider community.
This year’s programme promises more than 100 acts across multiple stages, with much‑loved favourites returning, including the BBC Introducing Stage, Silent Disco and the Residents Association Block Party. New partnerships will also bring fresh energy to the Marina:
-
Hull Music Service, The Warren and Warren Records are teaming up to deliver a dedicated emerging‑music stage, spotlighting the next generation of local talent
-
Stage@TheDock, in partnership with East Riding College, will host hands‑on music masterclasses, live performances and a vibrant art exhibition
-
Hip‑Hop Karaoke joins the lineup for the first time, inviting festivalgoers to take the mic and get involved throughout the day
