Fruit Market Hull is inviting artists to submit proposals for a major new public artwork at one of the area’s most recognisable spots - the footbridge near Stage at The Dock.

 

The commission celebrates everything that makes the Fruit Market special: its history of reinvention, its riverside setting, and the vibrant community that works, lives, plays and creates here. Artists are encouraged to propose bold, imaginative ideas that embody renewal, flow and the spirit of the rivers that meet here.

 

Commission at a Glance

  • Fee: £72,500 (excl. VAT)

  • Location: Footbridge near Stage @TheDock, Fruit Market, Hull

  • Timeline: Installation from winter 2026 (subject to planning)

  • Who Can Apply: Individual artists or artist teams

  • Commissioned By: Wykeland Group, their Managing Director, and the Brignall family
