Funding to Reduce Financial Risks for UK Grassroots Music
Music Venue Trust Partnership Boosts local shows, promoter development and touring
Liveline funding is now open for UK venues, artists and independent promoters, offering targeted financial support to help reduce the rising risks that make grassroots live music harder to stage.
Delivered by Music Venue Trust with Save Our Scene and the Association of Independent Promoters, the programme responds to a growing challenge across the grassroots sector: increasing financial pressure that can stop tours, local shows and new music nights from happening.
Liveline offers four funding strands, each designed with venues, artists and promoters to remove specific barriers to putting on live music:

Guarantorship Scheme - Covers up to 80% of losses on a single show or tour, supporting promoters, in house bookers and artists planning new dates

Local Scene Development Fund - Helps with venue hire for regular programming and promoter development, supporting independent promoters and venues building in house activity

Tour Extension & Regional Access Fund - Supports extra travel and accommodation costs so tours can reach remote or underserved parts of the UK

Genre Specific Safety & Access Fund - Covers additional requirements such as security, licensing or compliance for events with higher operational needs
Eligible costs vary by fund and may include venue hire, travel and accommodation, production and technical support, safety and licensing, and promoter development.
